PhD Student at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, supervised by Dr. Mara Lawniczak and Professor Richard Durbin. My current research centers around the evolution of transposable elements in eukaryotic genomes, particularly in developing new ways of annotating repeat content at scale.
Broadly interested in all areas of genomics, especially pangenomics, evolutionary biology, cancer biology and algorithmic graph theory/machine learning.
Previous Associate Computational Biologist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in the Popic lab.
Computer Science undergraduate at the University of Waterloo, with minors in Biology and Combinatorics & Optimization.
Outside of research, you can find me playing my violin, travelling, and hiking/running/biking/swimming outdoors.
